Heart Channel (Hand-Shaoyin)
Course:
The Heart Channel begins its internal pathway in the heart. It descends along the aorta through the diaphragm and
connects with the small intestine.
A branch separates from the heart and ascends along the esophagus to the pharynx, traverses the face, proceeds to
the mouth and terminates at the tissues surrounding the eyes.
Another branch separates from the heart and traverses the chest through the Lungs and emerges in the axilla at HT
01.
From HT 01 the surface pathway of the Heart Channel descends at the medial aspect of the biceps brachii muscle, to
the medial border of the transverse cubital crease of the elbow. It continues to descend along the medial forearm
through the wrist. Then it passes along the radial side of the pisiforme bone. Further it proceeds between the fourth
and fifth metacarpal bones, and terminates at the radial corner of the nail of the fifth finger at HT 09.
